Anger Management Classes & Individual Anger Management Therapy

I am a Certified Anger Management Specialist, Level II. I offer both individual and group anger management classes. Therapy sessions focus on psychoeducation, anger management techniques, and a comprehensive treatment plan focusing on dysfunctional patterns, DBT therapy (see below), therapy for depression and/or anxiety, and referrals for medication therapy (if necessary).

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT is an evidence based therapy widely used by therapists of different cultural backgrounds and diverse populations. This treatment is effective for treating a plethora of disorders such as depression, anxiety, substance addictions, eating disorders, and marital problems, to name a few. CBT improves a client’s functioning significantly by addressing unhelpful thoughts, behaviors, and problematic emotions and providing coping skills.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

DBT focuses on helping clients address painful emotions through mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. This therapeutic approach has strong research support in effectively treating borderline personality disorder, addictions, depression, bulimia, and PTSD to name a few disorders.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT is an effective, research based form of psychotherapy. ACT focuses on using acceptance, commitment, mindfulness, and behavioral modification techniques to help clients achieve psychological flexibility. Psychological flexibility enables the client to be open to exploring thoughts, feelings and experiences in a healthy way that results in increased understanding and acceptance.
